Chapter 1: Hyun Joong
“Why do you want to kill me?” a guy was begging another guy who was pointing a gun at him. The one who was holding the gun replied with a smile.
“I don’t know you, why in the world you want to kill me?” he asked again but the next thing he heard, ‘BANG!’ a loud voice and a sudden pain on his heart. He was lying on the ground, looking at the dark sky, blood flows out from his wound, more and more flowing out making a pool of blood, “Kimmi…. Mianhae…..” he managed to say before passing out.
“Oppa!!!” Kimmi yelled when she enter the ICU room, seeing her boyfriend who was lying in the bed, not moving at all hurts her heart.
“Hyung!!!” shouted Jun.
“Jung Min-ah!!!” shouted Saengie and Kyu.
“Yah Mal Jung Min, why aren’t you bickering with me today? I want to bicker with you now, wake up!!!” shouted Jun and he was shaking Jung Min’s hand and crying.
“You promised to make carrot juice for me today!!!” said Saengie as he really loves Jung Min’s carrot juice.
“Oppa….” Kimmi was tearing badly while Kyu just sit back at the soda, keeping quiet. Jung Min heartbeat was weak, normal humans heartbeat was 76 times per minute but his was 40 times per minute.
“Jun, stop shaking his hand already. He needs rest, we come back tomorrow,” said Saengie signaling Jun to follow him back, “Kimmi, you’ll be taking care of him ok?”
Kimmi nodded but Jun protested, “No, I’m not leaving Kimmi and Jung Min alone here!!! They might be in danger!!” shouted Jun but everyone knows that the main problem he doesn’t want to leave is because of Kimmi. Jun knows Kimmi earlier than the guys, he has feelings for her when they first time met each other but unfortunately, Jung Min made his move first before him. So he planned to let his hyung have his girl and him, protecting her secretly.
“Jun oppa, I’ll be fine. I know you’re worry about both of us but you need rest to take care of Jung Min later when I’m in school, araso?” but obviously, she doesn’t know about it.
“Araso, I’ll come pick you up soon,” he follows Kyu and Saengie leaving the building and headed back home.
Now there’s only Kimmi and the sleeping Jung Min is the room, “Oppa…. You promise me that you wouldn’t leave me and this time, really don’t leave me!!! What you want me to tell you, I promise I tell you when you’re awake. Oppa, mianhae for the fight, I was overreacting that time,” she was tearing and holding his hand tightly, it was just warm and comfortable, “I really miss you a lot during the time we’re having silent treatment against each other, hurry wake up and talk to me!!! You still need to fight with me and tease me oppa!!” she hits Jung Min’s hand but he never move a single bit. She buried her face on his palm and rest there while waiting for him to wake up. Doctor says that he’s in a critical condition now but if he manages to pass tonight and his fever if gone, then he’ll be save and awake.
Just as Kimmi was sleeping soundly and holding his hand tightly to hers, someone enters the room and it was the guy who shot him but Jung Min would never recognizes him as he cover his face with a mask when he attack him. He walks nearer to Jung Min and smile evilly towards the sleeping Jung Min.
He plan to kill him again since it’s a failure yesterday, he even shot few inches away from his heart but it manages to save his life. Kimmi was a light sleeper, she immediately wake up and saw that guy in front of her and thanks to her, her boyfriend can’t be kill, “Who are you?” she asked that guy.
“Oh…. I’m Jung Min’s friend, nice to meet you. I’m Hyun Joong and you must be Kimmi,” he put out his hand and Kimmi shook it.
“Yes I am, nice to meet you too Hyun Joong…” she doesn’t know what to address him as.
“You can call me oppa,”
“Then I’ll call you Hyun Joong oppa,”
“Are you feeling alright?” he asked her.
“Yes oppa, thank you. I think you should leave as the visiting hours is about to end in 5 minutes time,”
“What about you? You’re going to stay here and take care of him?”
“Yes I am, see you soon,” she greeted him and smiled, “Thanks for coming,”
He was shocked on seeing her smile; it’s something that makes his heart feel warm and cozy after so many years. He leaves the hospital, thinking of the girl he saw just now but silly him never managed to ask for her name.
“Who was that just now?” Jun asked as he enters the room, sitting opposite her.
“He claims to be oppa’s friend and he seems caring and friendly, what’s wrong?”
“Should I tell her? Its’ better not to get her in this problem, hyung will get me kill for sure,” he thought to himself.
“Oppa!!!” she waved in front of Jun’s face.
“Huh? Yeah, he’s one of hyung’s friends,” Jun smiled at her, “Now you go back and rest to get ready for school later,”
“Okay, I’ll stop by here before going to school. If anything happens, call me right away ok?” Jun nodded, “Wake up oppa when I come later,” she give Jung Min a light peck on the lips and went back home head to school.
“What is he doing here this time?” Jun said to himself as Jung Min started to move his fingers.
Kimmi went to school straight away and didn’t able to go to the hospital because she almost run late. Jun never informs her about Jung Min’s waking up because they wanted to discuss something with him but a number – unknown number send her a message telling her about it.
“Oppa, you’re awake!!!” cried Kimmi to Jung Min happily. The other three guys aren’t here as they went for tea at the canteen at 1st floor. She hugs Jung Min happily.
“Yah, I’m going to die soon if you continue hugging tighter,” he smiled at her when she released it and pouted. He was stroking her hair behind her ears, “Anything you want to say?” he asked.
“Say what?” she knew what he wants and she blush slightly.
“You’re smart enough to know what I want to hear,” he smiled and hold onto her hands, but she kept quiet, “Didn’t I hear some girl telling me that she misses me and ask me not to leave her?”
“Really? I wonder who ‘she’ could be,” she played along.
“I wonder too. Oh well, I don’t really miss her though when we’re having the silent treatment,” he joked but Kimmi didn’t take it as a joke because she really misses him.
“Yah Park Jung Min, you really don’t miss me? Fine, I won’t say it then,” she stood up; grab her bag and plan to leave.
When she was about to open the door, she turn around and have a look at him. He has no intention on chasing her back or even calling her name but smiling. She turns back to the door but the door opens and she saw Kyu, Saengie and Jun.
“Kimmi where are you going in such a hurry?” asked Jun as he saw anger in her face.
“Avoiding an idiot,” she storms off the hospital, scolding Jung Min in her heart.
“Mal Jung Min, what did you do to her this time?” said Saengie.
“Just making her to fulfill her promise she made,” he smiled and go back and rest, thinking of Kimmi. He might really make her angry this time with his jokes. It was fun for him when he bullies her because her reaction was always funny and her smile when he tells her jokes always warm his heart. She was always beside him when he’s unhappy and happy, they share happiness and sadness together but in matter of fact, both of them are equally stubborn.
“Is he dead?”
“Not yet hyung, I’m sorry I fail my mission,”
Hyun Joong receives a punch from his boss and causing him to bleed on the lips, “I don’t care how you’re doing it but I want him to be dead the next moment I ask you. Since you fail your mission, I think he’ll tighten his security force. So, I’m giving you the most a year time to finish him up. I don’t want to see you if you didn’t bring his body to me, understand?”
“Yes sir…” Hyun Joong left the room and went back his room. His older brother was in the next room towards him, he always goes there and talks to him although his brother is unable to talk, hear well and he was paralyzed, thanks to that incident.
He enters his older brother room and sat next to him and started talking. He always did this when he fails his mission or either got problems, “Hyung, the promise I made, I’ll fulfill it I promise no matter what it cost.”
‘I have to lay out a plan on targeting him, he probably knows who am I but if I’m really going to hunt him down, the other three will be down too. But who’s that girl she seems familiar?’ he thought to himself as he made his way entering his room.
A week later, Kimmi never visit Jung Min in the hospital because he says that he never misses her so she takes it as a yes. Jung Min was recovering well and fast and he’ll be discharged today. Jun told Kimmi about it but she never tells him about she’s picking him up or not.
Kimmi was walking aimlessly on the streets, wandering around got nothing to do. She got shock of the appearance of Hyun Joong in front of her.
“Nice to meet you again,” he smiled at her.
“Hyun Joong oppa, what are you doing here?” She was obviously surprised.
“Can’t I be here? It’s a public place miss…” he smiled as he pointed at the sign saying ‘Dongdaemun Flea Market’
“Hahaha… Araso, by the way I think you didn’t know my name. I’m Kim Ga Eun but you can call me Kimmi like Jung Min oppa,” she smiled at him once again.
Once again, Hyun Joong felt the warmth in her smile although it’s the second time of him meeting her or should they say they meet each other.
“So what are you doing here at Dongdaemun? Shopping for something?” he asked.
“Not really, I was supposed to fetch Jung Min oppa out today but I ended up not going,”
“Why?”
“I don’t know, well oppa since you’re here, are you free? Can you accompany me for the day?” She never knows why she would ask someone to accompany her when they only met each other twice.
“Sure,” he smiled at her.
“But are you a silent company? I need a silent one…”
“I’m a very silent company, let’s go,” he drags her in the flea market and shopping centre after that. They started walking around; Kimmi bought a lot of things for the four of them.
“Do you wear tie oppa?” she asked Hyun Joong.
“No, not really,”
“What do you like then?”
“I love manga,” he doesn’t know why he tells her he loves manga.
She nodded and excuse herself then went to a manga shop and bought something for Hyun Joong secretly, “Where you’ve been?” he asked.
“Nowhere, I went to the washroom,” They continue walking until evening time, “I’ll see you next time then oppa, thanks for being a silent company and a good company too,” Kimmi smiled, “Oh oppa, this is for you as a gift for visiting Jung Min oppa in the hospital,” She passes him the whole set of limited edition manga that he can afford with his pay but he doesn’t want to spend it. Kimmi also can afford it but she got it on a discount because of her smile. Her smile seems to make everyone fall for her.
He was shocked upon seeing the gift, it’s the first gift from her, and “Gomawo but I didn’t buy you anything,”
“It’s okay oppa, if you insisted on giving me one then you owe me one. Hahaha…. Hope to see my gift the next time I meet you,” she was joking then headed back to the guys house.
She arrive the guys house around 6pm, they should be at home; she know them too well. She pressed the doorbell but no one answer it. She tried again and again but still no answer. So, she planned to leave a message and the things she helps them to buy then take her leave. When she was about to leave, someone opens the door and drag her and brought the things in with him into the house.
“Where are you planning to go?” he said and pin her on the wall and kiss her cheeks.
“Yah who gave you the permission to kiss me?!!” she hit him lightly on the chest.
“Why? You don’t like it? Or should I do this?” he pull her nearer and kiss her on the lips and retreats from it after a few second.
She blushes and buried her face in his chest, “Oppa….”
“Araso, what did you bought this time?” he was stroking her hair then carried the things and pull her in the living room on the sofa. Just as they sat down, Kyu, Saengie and Jun came down from upstairs.
They started to go through the things that she bought. For Jun, she helps him to buy some computer devices that he still hasn’t own it and some brand new plus limited edition computer games; For Saengie, she helps him to but the latest iPod touch as he wanted to download tons of song inside. She even bought a memory card as a gift for him since him love music that much. For Kyu, she bought some clothes for him as he always short of clothes to change and for Jung Min; she bought carrots as he ordered her to buy, how funny.
